@Mqmpk: Did you read the source cited? It indicates that Matthew Jones "arrived at the lodge (in Lobuche), which is at 4200 metres, and then went on an 'acclimatising walk' to 4600 metres in preparation for the next leg of the trek." He then apparently "died about 4.30am of high-altitude sickness." There is no assertion in the source that he even set foot on Everest itself.
According to the Lobuche, Nepal article, "Lobuche (or Lobuje) is a small settlement near Mount Everest in the Khumbu region of Nepal."
Since Matthew Jones neither tried climbing nor died on Everest, what justification, then, is there in including him on a List of people who died climbing Mount Everest?

- P.S. Everest Base Camp may refer to one of two camps, each above 5,000 metres. So, Mathew Jones did not go there on his acclimatizing walk. Peaceray (talk) 22:53, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
@Peaceray following are the sources I went thru before posting it earlier... Anyways I have no issue if the name is removed from the listing. Just wanted to have a discuss first :)
- The dailymail.co.uk, news.com.au, & 9news.com.au all seem to be derived from the Herald Sun article ("A Melbourne father-of-two and multinational tech company professional ..."). 9news.com.au indicates that he "died of apparent altitude sickness near the Mt Everest base camp" & au.news.yahoo.com indicates that he "experienced high altitude sickness close to Base Camp and died on Friday."
- I think that there is disagreement about whether he ever trekked to the base camp. Regardless, all the articles indicate he did not intend to climb Everest, & on that basis he can be removed from the list.
- Also, a note on the Daily Mail: WP:DAILYMAIL indicates that "the Daily Mail is no longer considered to be a reliable source and cannot be used to demonstrate notability."

This page is intended to document those who died with the intent to summit the mountain. I have removed Mr. Jones from the list as it is clear that he had no intent to summit the mountain. There is no documentation of a climbing permit being issued to Mr. Jones and no documented associated climbing logistics company, which makes it clear that he was in the region for trekking rather than climbing.
To the individual who continue to add Mr. Jones back to this list, consider creating a page to document those who died while trekking in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Supadude888 (talk) 16:27, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
Wiki is also about discussing and not enforcing or taking abrupt actions. A civilized discussion always is better resolution :)
Peace out!!
