Thanks for your contributions to Elsa von Born. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. scope_creepTalk 19:58, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Axel Lille when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Tacyarg (talk) 05:14, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Translations and copyright
Hi Maja Fredrika, thank you for the recent contributions! Unfortunately, I have some copyright concerns. I noticed that the article Draft:Emil Wichmann is a rather direct translation of the corresponding BLF article. There are some differences (e.g. the paragraph about being the editor-in-chief for the "ultrasvekomanska" newspaper has been dropped), but overall the structure of the text is the same as in the source, also on the sentence level. For example, take this paragraph:
| After his retirement in 1916, Wichmann continued as a teacher at the Oulunkylä Swedish co-educational school in Helsinki (1916–1919), as acting archivist at the National Board of Navigation (1919–1923), and as acting senior lecturer at the Åland Lyceum (1927–1929). From 1919 he was a sought-after lecturer on military history at the Swedish-speaking units of the Finnish Army, and in 1930 he was engaged as assistant propagandist by the southern Uusimaa district of the Civil Guard. At the age of 73, in 1929, he undertook a lecture tour of the United States together with his daughter Gerda, on the invitation of Finland-Swedish communities there. |
Despite some changes from the original, I find the similarities significant enough for this to be a violation of WP:NONENGPLAG. And since, as far as I know, BLF is not in the public domain or published with a suitable license it is also a WP:COPYVIO. Could you comment on this? Jähmefyysikko (talk) 08:08, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- I'd also like to invite @Robertsilen here since this seems to be the way Projekt Fredrika is currently writing articles. For example, this diff has the same problem. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 01:10, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Jähmefyysikko Thank you for raising this – it is a legitimate concern and we take it seriously.
- You are right that some of our articles have been written with BLF articles as a very close basis. Our intention has been to summarize and reference BLF, not to translate it directly, but in practice the line has apparently been crossed in some cases. This may be an issue especially for articles we have created from scratch and have not needed to adapt to existing texts.
- We will review our past articles and the process going forward. Where the similarity is too close, we will rewrite the content in our own words, keeping BLF as a cited source rather than as a source to be translated directly.
- We are working in coordination with SLS, the publisher of BLF, and will inform them of this issue. Robert (talk) 06:48, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply! Good to hear that you recognize the problem and I trust you'll find ways to improve the process. To offer a suggestion, Uppslagsverket Finland could perhaps be used a basis for some articles (with attribution), since it is licensed as CC-BY-CA 4.0. Many of its biographies are short, but there are also some longer ones. Additional information could then be added from BLF. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 07:34, 22 May 2026 (UTC)
I see that you've now expanded your source base, which is a step to the right direction. However, Draft:Karl Jacob Gummerus still contains the following (comparison against BLF):
| [...] började i pressen publicera romantiserande och sedelärande skildringar av folklivet. De utgavs sedermera i bokform. Sin första längre novell ”Veljekset” (Bröderna) utgav Gummerus 1862, och den fick uppmuntrande recensioner av bl.a. J.V. Snellman. Gummerus gavs i uppdrag att redigera den skönlitterära avdelningen i tidningen Suometar, fennomanernas huvudorgan. | Gummerus began publishing romanticised, morally instructive sketches of rural life in the Finnish-language press during the 1860s. His first longer novella, Veljekset ("The Brothers"), appeared in 1862 and received an encouraging review from the statesman and philosopher Johan Vilhelm Snellman. Gummerus was subsequently entrusted with editing the literary section of Suometar, the principal newspaper of the Fennoman movement. |
It is not enough to interleave plagiarized passages with each other, you truly need to write the content in your own words. (Unless you're using Uppslagsverket, in which case you can use Template:Free-content attribution to indicate the origin of the text) Jähmefyysikko (talk) 06:28, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
FYI, I've added a copyvio template to Julius Tallberg, written by User:Sara Fredrika, as I noticed that even today's edit follows the same pattern of direct translation. There is a risk of a lot of effort being wasted here, both on Projekt Fredrika's part and by the copyright clerks. It might be best to pause and adjust the writing process before creating more articles. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 16:24, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, I've noted the problem and fixed Gummerus' draft. In the future, I'll be extra careful not to write in a way that could be classified as plagiarism. Maja Fredrika (talk) 19:32, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the effort! However, I am still concerned about the Writer and editor section. In my opinion, it is very difficult to work with a single short source text without resorting to close paraphrasing; there simply isn't enough detail in the source material to recount the events in your own words. In this case, the original author of the BLF article has chosen to highlight the stories "Veljekset", "Johannes" and the translations of Bunyan, Holberg and Lie. If this is the only material available to you, it is practically impossible to avoid mentioning the exact same items. The same applies to the reception: the BLF author has chosen some details to illustrate it, and since these are the only details you know, you mention them too. In my opinion, the draft still contains close paraphrasing, but I have left a comment to ask the reviewer of the draft for a second opinion.
- For practical guidance on how to avoid close paraphrasing, see WP:Close paraphrasing#How to write acceptable content. Note that the example assumes that one has at least two detailed sources that can be synthesised. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 10:24, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I have now rewritten the Literary work section using a new source, Kirjasampo. Maja Fredrika (talk) 15:55, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
