ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:59, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi B. I think you'd be a really good admin. Have you considered standing for election? No worries if you want to wait till the next round, after you've passed the 24 month mark to think about this. Just want you to know that I think you've already demonstrated the ability to consider actions carefully, make good decisions, and be respectful when interacting with other editors. -- Rosiestep (talk) 14:45, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Thank you, Rosie! Your message means so much to me. I've never thought about it, as I currently do not feel as though my activities here are admin-worthy yet—though it would, of course, be wonderful to feel otherwise. I'll think about it after the twenty-four-month mark for sure. Phibeatrice (talk) 16:17, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

On Jiang Xiaoxuan's nationality

Hi B! First of all, I really appreciate your efforts in writing about Jiang Xiaoxuan and your work on Asian culture! I only have a small question regarding Jiang's nationality. Since she was born in Inner Mongolia, I believe she should be a Chinese national. The Fred Film Radio interview that was used as a source for her nationality in the lead does not seem to mention that she is Mongolian, instead I found a China Daily article referring to her as a Chinese film director. I am not entirely certain about this, so I would like to discuss whether you have come across any other sources that confirm her Mongolian nationality before making any changes. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 21:13, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi! Thank you for the note, as I was also wondering about her nationality. I have no idea about the geographical, national classification of Inner Mongolia, so I declined to fill that information in other than simply stating that she was a "Mongolian director," as that's where the sources point toward. I couldn't really find much else on her other than what I cited, so if you find new information on top of that, you should go for it! Phibeatrice (talk) 21:22, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
Also, if I was entirely wrong or made up the information about her being a "Mongolian director"—I could've sworn I read this somewhere—then please do remove or amend that information! I'll double-check later, as well. Phibeatrice (talk) 21:23, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
No worries! It is indeed a bit complicated since Mongolia is a country while Inner Mongolia is part of China, and I think it is best to follow a secondary source (the China Daily article). I have edited the article accordingly and added the Chinese name transcriptions of Jiang. Looking forward to reading more of your amazing articles on Asian topics. Cheers and happy editing! —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 21:48, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! I appreciate all of your edits to the page. I look forward to seeing more of your articles, as well—I'm a huge fan of Asian cinema! Phibeatrice (talk) 22:05, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. — Ирука13 15:08, 26 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello Phibeatrice,

New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

BoyTheKingCanDance, Rosiestep, SunDawn, and Vanderwaalforces were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

January–February backlog drive

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

May backlog drive

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.

PageTriage

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Congrats about the NY Times mention

Hi! Congrats that articles you created were mentioned in a New York Times article by the new WMF CEO! -- Rosiestep (talk) 22:13, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Congratulations as well, it's been a while! You weren't mentioned by name, but I read the relevant paragraph and instantly knew who they were talking about. (: Keep up the good work. TechnoSquirrel69 (talk) 22:27, 5 July 2026 (UTC)

Adding book covers into book article infoboxes

Hi. Next time we're in the same place, would you please show me how to do this? I've got a few book articles that would benefit from the addition. Thanks. -- Rosiestep (talk) 13:37, 7 July 2026 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Phibeatrice:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
