Rising Star Games → Thunderful Games – As described in the article, Rising Star Games was renamed to Thunderful Games Limited in 2023 PipitSweet16 (talk) 15:15, 15 May 2026 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). 1isall (talk | contribs) 15:33, 16 May 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. - @PipitSweet16 I see that Rising Star was acquired, however what I'm not able to source is whether the name is still being used or if it has been renamed. If you have any reliable sources that meet WP:NAMECHANGES, that would help. ASUKITE 16:00, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Asukite: The Rising Star article cites this for the company name change. The filing history tab has a viewable PDF Certificate of Incorporation on Change of Name. Red Shogun412 (talk • contribs) 16:08, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- That does indicate a name change, I'm not sure if it's enough though. We usually look for more in-depth reporting or passing mentions by independent RS, as this is an official filing that would indicate the subject's official name rather than its common name. I am seeing some headlines in news searches that may indicate the name "Thunderful Games" being used but am unable to check currently due to a web filter, so I won't hold this up further if anybody feels it appropriate. - Yeah. I wasn't so sure about it, either. Maybe an RM can help. Red Shogun412 (talk • contribs) 16:22, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- Using a database to determine this much is WP: Original research. From the parent's annual reports, it looks it was merged or shut down. I think the article lead should be changed accordingly. IgelRM (talk) 16:14, 30 May 2026 (UTC)

- Oppose All that comes up when looking for "Thunderful Games Limited" are directory listings. That means "Rising Star Games" is still the WP:COMMONNAME for this studio. Wikipedia being a historical encyclopedia, it's not obligated to change article names for every corporate reshuffle that happens at some executive's whim, only when that name becomes the most heavily used in reliable sources. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 23:37, 31 May 2026 (UTC)
