Image tagging for Image:Tara moss.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Tara moss.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Tara moss.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tara moss.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:10, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Image:John_So.jpg listed for deletion
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it, but use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Thatcher131 15:08, 28 October 2006 (UTC)November 2012
Please do not add or change content, as you did to Han–Xiongnu War, without verifying it by citing reliable sources. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. I'm mainly referring to the replacement of cited content with uncited ones. --Cold Season (talk) 21:25, 10 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ruger 10/22, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rimfire (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Suggestions for improving FX Airguns
Please add more references to your article FX Airguns adding link to independent sources (newspaper articles, magazine articles, books) mentioning the company. Speedy deletion nomination of TALO Distributors

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on TALO Distributors requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Copyright problem on Howa
Content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from http://www.howa.co.jp/en/products/firer/history.html, which is not released under a compatible license. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:RoboMaster trophy.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:RoboMaster trophy.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:07, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:RoboMaster robot spin.gif

Thanks for uploading File:RoboMaster robot spin.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:10, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Hatsan Arms Company

Hello, Smartiejl. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Hatsan Arms Company".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Fraser Lowland while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:29, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:59, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Notice
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Sniper. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges.
This also applies to multiple reverts of the same content. Thank you - wolf 05:13, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
Added note
It appears that since joining Wikipedia in 2006, you have not made a single talk page edit during the entire 15 years you have had an account. You should know that communication with other editors, primarily via discussion on user and article talk pages is not an option. It is in fact very much expected of all editors on Wikipedia, especially during content disputes. (I have actually seen users blocked from editing for refusing to engage in discussion). Copying within Wikipedia
Hi Smartiejl! Thank you for your edits to Angling. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Crayfish into that page, and while you are welcome to re-use the content, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. Eumemmerring Creek moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Eumemmerring Creek, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your edits are a problem
Your editing is becoming increasingly problematic. For example, here, here, and here is work needed to clean up some of your recent edits. In particlular, you do not seem to be responding to several warnings you have had above about overlinking and adding original research without including reliable sources. In addition, you are adding material to existing sentences that is not in the source cited for that sentence. You also have a predilection for rewriting the lead of articles in a manner that hugely over-complicates them. The lead should be a summary overview, attempting to capture the main points succinctly in a straightforword manner. You seem focused on adding minor details to the point where the main points become obscure and somewhat lost.
I feel somewhat annoyed that I probably need now to go through your previous edits, certainly if they are to do with marine life. That's not how I want to spend my time. Will you please see if you can reflect on the feedback you have been receiving in a constructive way, and tighten your editing practices. Otherwise, please find something else to do with your time. — Epipelagic (talk) 02:29, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for these edits. That kind of editing is helpful :) — Epipelagic (talk) 23:28, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (2nd request)
It appears that you copied or moved text from Rig (fishing) to Fishing lure. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. DanCherek (talk) 02:52, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm MichaelMaggs. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fish hook, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. MichaelMaggs (talk) 08:25, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Aquatic animal
There are escalating problems with the additions you have been making to Aquatic animal. You seem to be engaged in large scale original research, expressing your own views, not always accurate, on what aquatic animals are about. You must know by now that is not, at all, what Wikipedia is about. Wikipedia is not about random Wikipedia editors jotting down what they happen to think. It is about verifiability. Any statements that could reasonably be challenged should be cited with a reliable source.
I suggest you remedy the matter by removing the text from the article which you did not cite. Then, if you want to rescue the situation, you can, at leisure, bit by bit, reinstate the text you want to include, but accompanied this time with reliable sources. You won't always find that easy - there are skills you need to develop to really locate and assess reliable sources. But if you can't find a reliable source for something, then you shouldn't include it. That is the rules of the game here, and if you don't play according to the rules then you are not functioning as a Wikipedia editor.
"Aquatic animal" is an overview article. As such it can be much easier to source, since you can use material present elsewhere in Wikipedia, and that material elsewhere in Wikipedia should be accompanied by suitable sources which you can then reuse. If you copy bits from elsewhere in Wikipedia, you should acknowledge that in your edit note, with a comment like: copied from squid. Regards – Epipelagic (talk) 08:40, 5 August 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I'm ZergTwo. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Aquatic locomotion, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. Sorry
Hi Smartiejl, my apologies for accidentially blocking your account. It seems you're having a bit of a dispute with Jako96 and I've left them a couple messages about their editing. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need some assistance. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:22, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have no dispute with Jako96. It is him (or her, or else) who is unilaterally issuing rather condescending warnings (as if he actually owns Wikipedia) and maliciously reporting me (on edits that were months or even years old, in several occasions), which I just found out via notices because I'm not on Wikipedia full-time.
- I don't have problems with people disagreeing with my contributions - anyone is welcome to criticize my knowledge and correct my edits if they truly have something better to contribute. However, I do get annoyed somewhat when people do it with a rude, disrespectful attitude, but once again, I actually have real-life commitments and any contribution to Wikipedia is merely a casual hobby, so that doesn't really trigger me much.
- As of your accidentally blocking my account because of someone else's predatory reporting, it was reversed and you kindly reached out with an apology (which I much appreciate), so no harm is done and I certainly will not hold it against you or the Wikipedia community.
- PS: I do cite most of my contributions when needed and will do so more actively, although sometimes it is difficult and even unnecessarily excessive (for instance, do you need any citation for "Sun rises in the east"?). Smartiejl (talk) 11:11, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- You have repeatedly been correctly warned for making edits without citing any kind of source. I carry no brief for Jako96 but he is correct about your uncited edits. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:39, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- Everyone can warn everyone here. I don't need to own Wikipedia for that. You are making a LOT OF uncited edits despite you've been repeatedly warned. You literally added this to Animal page: "The animal kingdom is divided into five infrakingdoms/superphyla, namely Porifera, Ctenophora, Placozoa, Cnidaria and Bilateria.". Porifera, Ctenophora, Placozoa and Cnidaria are phyle while Bilateria is generally left unranked. And you didn't even cite any source for this nonsense. You also ranked Protostomia as a superphylum without citing any sources (it's generally left as unranked). You even added that Cnidaria and Bilateria were superphyla to Planulozoa page, WITHOUT CITING ANY SOURCES. So it's definitely not my fault here. Jako96 (talk) 19:12, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
- Smartiejl, you need to cite sources whenever the material you are adding has or is likely to be challenged. Given the messages you've been left on your talk page about citing sources I'd suggest that from here you should cite a source for all changes (that is, any new information you add) you make to articles. Continuing not to do so might result in you being blocked or ending up at WP:ANI. Regarding your (albeit, rhetorical) question about do you need any citation for "Sun rises in the east"? the answer is actually quite straightforward according to our policies, if your addition is not challenged, then a source is not required but our verifiability policy still encourages it, if it is challenged then must cite a source. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 01:52, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- You don't need any citations for "Sun rises in the east" but definitely for "The animal kingdom is divided into five infrakingdoms/superphyla, namely Porifera, Ctenophora, Placozoa, Cnidaria and Bilateria" or for "Most living animal species belong to the infrakingdom Bilateria" or for "Planulozoa is a clade of animals that includes the superphyla Cnidaria (jellyfish, hydrozoans, sea anemones, corals, etc.) and the Bilateria (all complex animals with bilateral symmetry, including arthropods, molluscs, vertebrates, etc.)". Jako96 (talk) 07:42, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- One last thing: I didn't report on any of your "years old" edits, in "several occasions". I only reported on your three edits: Two of them were months old, and one of them was a year old. You just can't lie to get out of this. Just give up and stop this nonsense. You're harming Wikipedia. Jako96 (talk) 11:00, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
- My only mistakes were that I forgot to sign the warnings and the last warning I sent should have been uw-unsourced4 instead of uw-vandalism4im. And I signed all my warnings now. Jako96 (talk) 07:35, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

Book lung
Hi, i saw you undid my edit on Book lung, in which i changed the introduction from "present in tetrapulmonate arachnids such as scorpions and spiders" to "present in scorpions and tetrapulmonate arachnids such as spiders". Given that scorpions are not part of Tetrapulmonata, i see no reason to mantain the introduction as is since, as things stand, anyone that isn't extremely well-informed on chelicerate phylogenetics would be led to believe that scorpions are infact tetrapulmonate arachnids. Also, please be mindful of WP:NPOV, e.g. regarding your claims that deteriorating Sino-Japanese relations in the early 2010s [were] primarily due to controversies over Japanese historical negationism regarding politicians visiting Yasukuni Shrine, revisionist textbooks, Nanjing Massacre denialism and Japan's increasing alliance with the United State's containment policy against China since the Chinese economy overtook Japan's in 2010

The first sentence of the lead
Hi Smartiejl, sorry to trouble you on your talk page, but your recent edits to Viridiplantae deserve some discussion.
Firstly, per WP:LEAD, there should be no additions of "new" text or citations to the lead, i.e. there should be nothing up there that is not already in the article.
Secondly, the addition of 1,000 bytes of text and citation does not remotely match your edit comment "fix grammar". There was, in fact, nothing wrong with the grammar once I had shortened the lead sentence; and a fortiori, your edit actually made the structure worse.
Thirdly, the first sentence of the lead, and to an extent the whole of the first paragraph, should be appreciably simpler than the rest of the lead, and the rest of the article. Science articles can become quite technical; the job of the lead is to present the core information simply and clearly. The job of the first sentence is to go further and simplify, even at the risk of leaving out exceptions, qualifications, and complications. This is to ensure that people without a science degree and children of school age can understand the outlines of the article, even if they struggle to read the rest of the article.
Fourthly, I explicitly stated this last point in my edit comments, which matched the simplification of grammar and content that I made. By repeating the core of your first edit and reverting the article to the more complex state, you were in fact trying to force through your point of view, ignoring the stated WP:LEAD policy which I drew your attention to in my edit comment. That behaviour is contrary to Wikipedia policy.
Fifthly, one of the citations you added was in Vancouver style. There is no justification for this in this article, which uses last, first as the format for authors in citations. I expect you simply copied the material from some other article; more care is required than that.
I will edit the lead now, and will move the new citation out of the lead. I hope this is all clear to you, as Wikipedia depends absolutely on the proper conduct of editors, in compliance with core policy. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:58, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Damaging edits to lead
I see that rather than understanding the errors described in the previous thread, you have chosen to double down on them with a fresh set of mistaken and undesirable edits in the lead of Predation. Unlike Viridiplantae, this is a major article with a large readership; it has been contributed to by many hands; and it has been formally reviewed to GA status.
Here are some of the major concerns with the edits.
- 1) Especially concerning is the error about graminivory (and frugivory, where this involves eating seeds). A seed is a whole organism, so graminivory is not micropredation (like eating a leaf or a drop of blood) but predation pure and simple.
- 2) The massive increase in length and complexity of the first sentence is wholly undesirable, and given what I explained in the thread above, a repugnant and dismissive act that displays an uncollegiate and inconsiderate attitude.
- 3) The great increase in length and complexity of the first paragraph is equally unhelpful to the school-age or non-graduate reader. We must not assume that readers of general articles like this one have biology degrees (such people will hardly bother to read the lead anyway): most readers must be taken to have relatively little knowledge of zoology or ecology, and require a simple plain lead, with an even simpler first paragraph.
- 4) The use of weirdly complex phrases like "
while ordinary folivory/graminivory, frugivory and mucivory is more akin to micropredation
" is absurd, even if it were not actually erroneous. We must not write like that in the lead, and frankly we should not do so in the article body either.
- 5) The lead is not the place to introduce "new" terminology (like "folivory" and "mucivory"). Such terms are undesirable in the lead, and doubly so when they are neither used in the rest of the article (!) nor defined anywhere. This is bad, unencyclopedic writing.
- 6) Uncited claims must not be made anywhere in the article; that includes the lead, as it must only summarize cited claims in the article body. The claims about graminivory and so on are not just uncited but actually wrong, i.e. you have introduced ORIGINAL RESEARCH into a Good Article. The claims are indeed contradicted by cited text in the article. This is disgraceful and unacceptable.
- 7) It's disputable whether such micropredation (the examples of that like folivory are close to parasitism) should even be covered in this article, but if it is agreed to be worth mentioning, then it must be cited in the article body.
- 8) Once again, you have failed to flag these edits as major changes. Your first edit comment was "Added links" for an edit that made multiple changes to the text and which added 1,175 bytes of text including new examples not given in the article body. Four of your edits were wholly uncited. This is not helpful at any time.
I am sorry to have to make a posting like this detailing multiple severe problems on the page of an experienced editor. Had a new editor made the edits just reverted, I would have issued a severe formal warning. I do hope it will not be necessary to take formal action to prevent further edits of this sort: it must stop immediately. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:45, 14 March 2026 (UTC)

March 2026
Thank you for your edit to a disambiguation page. However, please note that disambiguation pages are not articles; rather, they are meant to help readers find a specific article quickly and easily. From the disambiguation dos and don'ts, you should:
- Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
- Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
- Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry
- Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
- Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
- Do not insert external links or references
