Speedy deletion nomination of Category:19th-century Deputy Commissioners of Police of the Metropolis

A tag has been placed on Category:19th-century Deputy Commissioners of Police of the Metropolis indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 21:31, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Frederick William Spurgin
Hello, VivatLondinium
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Klbrain, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Frederick William Spurgin, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}} - Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Deletion discussion about Frederick William Spurgin
Hello VivatLondinium, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Frederick William Spurgin, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Frederick William Spurgin.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Ways to improve Wilhelm Boeck
Hello, VivatLondinium,
Thank you for creating Wilhelm Boeck.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Thanks for the article. A few things I see
Per WP:MOS, consider to expand the lead to summarize his key career points (Picasso/Cézanne, Grieshaber, awards, Tübingen). I think there is an over reliance on potential primary sources (dissertation, old university bulletin) for basic biographical facts.
Consider restructuring the Life/Leben section into logical subsections (e.g., Education, Career, Expertise)
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Noxoug1}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Unattributed translations
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from fr:Louis Lazare to Louis Lazare. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. -- Reconrabbit 01:38, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

Antoine II Bohier moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Antoine II Bohier, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Categorization
Thanks for your interest in category space. I've just spent a ton of time adding categories you missed. Please review how categorization works before making more categories. I have two pieces of advice that I hope you take seriously.
- A good rule of thumb before creating categories by century and nationality is to see if the category without nationality exists. For example, we don't have Category:20th-century military engineers as a category right now. It's easier to make the case for a categories like Category:20th-century French military engineers if you can show that there's a need to diffuse by century.SMasonGarrison 01:56, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- Please add *all* the relevant parent categories when you create categories in the future. And make sure that there are multiple pages for each category. SMasonGarrison 02:43, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

Gustave Etoc-Demazy moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Gustave Etoc-Demazy. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 12:57, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
Unattributed translations
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from fr:Hôpital Etoc-Demazy to Hôpital Etoc-Demazy.

Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago.
