The 2006 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on November 7, 2006, in order to elect the Secretary of State of Minnesota. Democratic–Farmer–Labor nominee Mark Ritchie defeated Republican nominee and incumbent Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer, For Independent Voters nominee Bruce D. Kennedy and Independence nominee Joel Spoonheim.[1]
