PT Rosalia Indah Transport is a Indonesian bus company headquartered in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. This bus company serves intercity buses, shuttle buses, tourist buses, and courier services. In addition to managing the transportation business, through its subsidiaries, this bus company also expands into the hospitality business such as restaurants, rest areas, and hotels; as well as the production of bottled drinking water. The head office and main garage of this bus company are located at Jalan Raya Solo–Ngawi km 7.5, Jaten, Karanganyar, Central Java.

Opening a shuttle bus

Yustinus Soeroso is an businessman born in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. From childhood to adolescence, he was accustomed to working hard to help his parents, who lived modestly as farmworkers. Soeroso began his career in the world of transportation bus as a bus conductor, conductor, and finally a bus agent, at the Timbul Jaya bus company.[1][2] This experience became the starting point that shaped her character of discipline, hard work, and a deep understanding of the world of bus transportation.

After marrying Yustina Rahyuni, the two of them determined to build their own transportation business. With very limited capital and experience, they founded Rosalia Indah as an interprovincial shuttle bus company in 1983. He named it after his first child, Yustina Anna Rosalia. This interprovincial shuttle bus is a single Mitsubishi Colt Diesel unit and runs on the SoloBlitarMalangSurabaya route. The bus is registered with plate number AD 9866 A (now AD 7133 A), and was later given the name "Bibit Kawit". In 1987, Rosalia Indah began to focus on intercity routes within the province (AKDP) in Central Java.[3][4][5]

Opening an intercity and interprovincial bus service

Although it started as a small bus for shuttle services, thanks to good service and increasing customer trust, this business began to grow rapidly.[2] In 1991, Rosalia Indah officially operated as an intercity bus interprovincial bus company with the main routes SoloJakarta and Blitar–Jakarta. Soeroso began adding to his fleet one by one to make this happen. His entrepreneurial spirit enabled the company to grow rapidly in a short time, despite very limited initial capital.[6]

On March 21, 1991, PO Rosalia Indah officially obtained a business license as a General Travel Agency (BPU) with the number 05/D.2/BPU/III/1991. Since then, Rosalia Indah has grown into one of the largest land transportation companies in Indonesia, headquartered at Jalan Raya Solo–Ngawi km 7.5, Dagen, Jaten, Karanganyar. The company is committed to the principles of "service, safety, comfort, and fleet cleanliness" as the foundation of customer service. [7]

Throughout his career, Soeroso has been known for his strong business philosophy: serving with heart and focusing on customer satisfaction. [1] He initiated customer-oriented service systems such as prize draw programs and "RI Plus" membership cards to attract passenger loyalty. These innovations make Rosalia Indah not only a transportation provider, but also a company that is oriented towards long-term relationships with customers.[8]

At the beginning of its debut as an AKAP bus, Rosalia Indah only had five non-AC buses with chassis Hino AK.[6] Until now, this bus company has evolved into one of the bus companies with the most complete services in Indonesia. Soeroso continues to innovate by adding new facilities such as AC, ergonomic seats, in-bus entertainment, and even flight attendant services to improve passenger comfort.[9][10] Rosalia Indah is also one of the pioneers in the use of double-decker buses (double-decker) in Indonesia, and has 13 travel classes. Not only in transportation, Yustinus also expanded his business to the supporting and sponsorship sectors, such as Rosalia Express (courier), Ros-In Hotel, Rosin Rest Area, as well as laundry and grocery store. This expansion demonstrates his ability to see market opportunities and strengthen the integrated transportation-based business ecosystem.[2]

Soeroso's success is not only due to hard work, but also to his managerial abilities and mature business strategies. He implemented the principle of "friendly, safe, and comfortable" service which has become the company culture to this day. He emphasized that the transportation business is not just about moving passengers from one place to another, but also providing a pleasant and memorable travel experience. He also diligently updates the fleet regularly to ensure the buses are always in prime condition. In addition, Yustinus pays great attention to the welfare of employees, including chauffeurs and bus crew, because he believes the company's success cannot be separated from their loyalty. Its business strategy, which prioritizes quality and human relations, is what keeps PO Rosalia Indah going amidst the intense competition in the national transportation industry.[6] On March 21, 2012, the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia awarded Rosalia Indah the Best Non-Economic AKAP (Large Company) award in the Large Company category.[11]

On April 10 2015, Rosalia Indah obtained the status of legal entity limited liability company with the name PT Rosalia Indah Transport.[5] Thanks to his persistence, Soeroso is now widely known as one of the successful figures in the Indonesian transportation industry, even nicknamed "Sultan Palur" — referring to the location of the PO Rosalia Indah head office in the Palur area (an area administratively included in the villages of Palur, Mojolaban, Sukoharjo and Dagen, Jaten, Karanganyar). This nickname was given by the public, especially bus lovers and the media because of his success achieved from zero to having hundreds of luxury bus fleets. With 21 double-decker buses, Rosalia Indah once received an award from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as "The Intercity and Regional Bus Company with the Largest Double-Decker Fleet, with Stewardess Service."[2][12]

On May 27, 2019, Rosalia Indah, along with Perum DAMRI, Gunung Harta, Harapan Jaya, Kramat Djati, Lorena, Pahala Kencana, and Sinar Jaya opened bus services via Trans-Java Toll Road, with an average capacity of 34 passengers with executive class.[13] Currently, the leadership of Rosalia Indah is in the hands of Soeroso's son, Fransiskus Xaverius Adimas Rosdian.[14]

Fleet

As of October 2025, according to records on the official PT Rosalia Indah Transport website, Rosalia Indah operated 475 agents, more than 250 routes, 389 regular fleets, and 50 double-decker buses.

When its double-decker buses reached 21 units, Rosalia Indah received a MURI award. According to Rosdian, who now serves as the company's President Director, the idea to procure double-decker buses at Rosalia Indah arose to adapt to infrastructure conditions, namely the completion of the Trans-Java Toll Road, and not at all due to "fear of missing out" compared to other POs that already had them. This is because the trend of using double-decker buses existed before the Trans-Java Toll Road was completed. [2][12] Only in 2024, Rosalia Indah added another double-decker bus to a total of 36 units. [14]

For its double-decker buses, Rosalia Indah uses a variety of premium chassis/trontons and bodywork. For chassis, Rosalia Indah operates the Scania AB K410iB and Daimler Truck O 500 RSD 2445. The bodywork used is produced by Adi Putro (Jetbus 3+ SDD and Jetbus 5 SDD) and Laksana (Legacy SR-3 Double-Decker Ultimate Edition). The combination of a Scania K410iB chassis with a Jetbus5 SDD body or a Mercedes-Benz with a Laksana body are examples of configurations used at Rosalia Indah.[12][14]

Rosalia Indah is known to be not picky about chassis or bodywork, depending on the floor height, travel class, and type of bus. Rosalia Indah operates buses with Mercedes-Benz chassis (OH 1526,[15] OH 1626,[16] O 500 RSD 2445[17]), Hino (AK[6] and RK[15]), and Scania (K310iB and K410iB).[15] The bodywork used is, for example, Skylander made by New Armada,[18] Jetbus3[19] and Jetbus5[20] production of Adi Putro, Legacy SR-2[12] and SR-3[21] produced by Laksana, and Avante produced by Karoseri Tentrem.[22]

Rosalia Indah offers thirteen travel class, including: Double-Decker, Super Top SHD, Executive Plus UHD, Executive Plus SHD, Super Executive, Executive, VIP, Patas, Super Top Micro Bus, Executive Micro Bus, Travel Big Top, Executive Travel, and Tourism.[2]

Rosalia Indah's modern buses are also easily recognized by their white/grey paintwork with blue, red, yellow, and black stripes (the same colors as the company logo). [20] In addition, Rosalia Indah's modern buses often display the brand of the bus chassis used in very large letters, the words "Full Tol Trans Jawa" [sic], as well as Rosalia Indah's promotional jargon, #HolobisEnakNgebis. [23][24]

Shuttle bus

Since its inception, Rosalia Indah's first line of business has been a shuttle bus with one Mitsubishi Colt Diesel ("Bibit Kawit") unit and operating on the route SoloBlitarMalangSurabaya.[3][4][5] Currently, Rosalia Indah's regular shuttle bus service operates the routes SoloSurabaya and Salatiga–Solo–Surabaya with a fleet of Toyota HiAce.[25]

Tour Bus

Rosalia Indah also operates tour bus, as part of their non-route business line. Their fleet is roughly the same as the AKAP buses.[26]

Served by 14 representative areas and more than 300 agents in Java and Sumatra, this company offers various service products such as one-day delivery, regular delivery, and motorcycle delivery. This business started from the luggage space of the regular Rosalia Indah bus, which often received packages to various destinations. As the courier business grew, this courier company was formed.[27]

Other Businesses

Beyond the bus business, the Rosalia Indah business group has strategically diversified into non-transportation businesses to strengthen its business and create additional revenue streams. Through its subsidiaries such as PT Rosalia Indah Mitra Sentosa and PT Rosalia Indah Sejahtera, this business group manages restaurants and rest areas spread across several points such as its head office in Palur, Subang, and the rest area km 319 Pemalang–Batang Toll Road, with the Rosin Resto brand. On the lodging side, Rosalia Indah also established a hotel unit called Hotel Ros-In which is often located next to the Rosalia Indah bus agency—one of the largest located in Bantul Regency—with complete facilities such as swimming pool, MICE room, spa, and airport shuttle service.[28] Rosalia Indah also opened a travel support business and tourism, including the Rosin Mart grocery store, Rosin Laundry, and even has its own bottled water brand, Utra, which is produced by its own subsidiary PT Guwatirta Sejahtera.[2]
