Request review of Draft:P. V. Unnikrishnan (COI)
I am Dr P. V. Unnikrishnan, the subject of Draft:P. V. Unnikrishnan, and therefore have a conflict of interest under Wikipedia's guidelines. Following an AfC review, I have rewritten the draft in my own words based on the cited sources and added inline citations throughout. I would be grateful if any uninvolved editors at this WikiProject could, when convenient, take a look at the draft for notability, neutrality, and style, and make any changes they think appropriate or comment on the draft's talk page. Thank you. Dr Potheri Vasudevan Unnikrishnan (talk) 13:24, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

For convenience, the current version of the draft is at Draft:P. V. Unnikrishnan; if you see specific sentences or sections that should be trimmed or rephrased for neutrality, I would welcome concrete suggestions or changes. Thank you. - Hi @Dr Potheri Vasudevan Unnikrishnan Sorry if my previous comment did not fully go through
- The main problem is tone. it reads as a CV or institutional profile rather than an encyclopedia entry, with long lists of projects, committees and initiatives written in promotional language (WP:NOTCV, WP:PROMO, WP:PEACOCK). Much of it is also sourced to K-DISC, IKM, C-DIT and other bodies the subject is or was part of, which are not independent for the purposes of WP:RS; the article needs to lean far more heavily on the third-party press coverage you already cite. Several of the listed publications are conference proceedings co-authored by the subject, which support facts but don't establish notability. I'd suggest cutting the article to roughly half its length, removing the project-by-project recitation, rewriting in neutral prose, and grounding each significant claim in an independent secondary source. The "Personal life" section should also go unless covered by reliable independent sources. Resubmit once the tone is neutral and the sourcing is independent.

Reuters
Reuters is now pay-walled. They rigged it so badly that even archived articles on archive.org are now invisible.
So, please look for newspapers that publish the Reuters articles verbatim and cite those instead of Reuters. If you can see the first paragraph, you can search for it in ProQuest and find other newspapers that printed it.
Also, please go to WP:TWL and upvote the request for TWL access to Reuters. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:30, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
- For example, here is one of the best articles on the early phase of the Manipur conflict:
- Krishn Kaushik, Bunkers, sniper rifles: Deepening sectarian war in India dents Modi's image, Reuters, 28 July 2023.
- It is now pay-walled. But the entire article was published in Irish Times under a different title:
- Deepening sectarian war in India dents prime minister Modi’s tough guy image: Strife in north-east has meant powerful leader will face a no confidence vote, Irish Times, 1 August 2023. ProQuest 2843946431
- So I can link to that one in addition to the inaccessible web version. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:34, 5 May 2026 (UTC)

Request for reassessment: Umaid Bhawan Palace
I request a reassessment of Umaid Bhawan Palace, which is currently rated as B-class. Although, the article is reasonably readable, much of the sourcing appears to rely on travel guides, tourism-oriented books, and hotel-related publications rather than architectural or historical sources. There are also citation issues, promotional or non-neutral phrasing, and weakly attributed claims (including at least one existing "[by whom?]" tag).
The article may currently align more closely with upper C-class or borderline B-class quality. Input from editors familiar with architecture or Indian history topics would be valuable. YashTheSoni (talk) 08:33, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Requested move at Talk:Vedal § Requested move 2 May 2026

An editor has requested that Vedal be moved to Vedal, Chengalpattu, which may be of interest to this WikiProject. You are invited to participate in the move discussion. Qwaiiplayer (talk) 15:46, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- Comment For context, this is related to a discussion about whether the village covered by the current article at Vedal or the Twitch streamer named Vedal987 (creator of AI Vtuber Neuro-sama) is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the namespace. During the discussion, it was discovered that there are possibly at least two different villages with the name "Vedal" which were thought to be the same village in the original article. Since English language sources are limited for this topic, but there's presumed notability for villages by WP:NSETTLEMENT, it would be helpful to have people knowledgeable about the geography of the region clarify matters. AfC submission: Draft:Rohan Shrestha (Mumbai-based photographer)
Hello, I have submitted Draft:Rohan Shrestha through the Articles for Creation process. The subject is a Mumbai-based photographer known for editorial and commercial work, including the official captains' portraits for the 2023 Cricket World Cup and a coffee-table book produced in collaboration with the NBA. The draft is sourced from Indian and international publications. I have disclosed my connection to the subject on my talk page per WP:COI. Any feedback would be welcome. Thank you. ~~~~ Rohanshrestha1 (talk) 10:25, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
Requested regarding the Samthar ruling family
Hi, I would like to request a review of the section discussing the ruling dynasty of Samthar State, as the current wording appears inconsistent with several historical and official published sources.
The article presently states that the ruling family belonged to the Bar Gujar dynasty of Rajputs. However, multiple historical references appear to identify the Samthar ruling house as Gurjar.
The following sources may be relevant:
- Alexander Cunningham, Archaeological Survey of India Reports, Vol. 1–11 (1862–1865; 1871–1878), p. 71.
- Sir Roper Lethbridge, The Golden Book of India (1893), p. 745.
- Memoranda on Native States in India (Superintendent Government Printing, Calcutta, 1911), p. 55.
- The Hind Rajasthan: Annals of the Native States of India (1896), p. 750.
- The Sphere, 28 May 1938 issue, identifying H.H. Maharaja Sir Bir Singh Judev Khatana Bahadur of Samthar.
- Robert Henry Wallace, Service and Adventure with the Khakee Ressalah; or, Meerut Volunteer Horse, during the Mutinies of 1857–58.
- John Murray (London), The Historical Record of the Imperial Visit to India, 1911.
- J. Talboys Wheeler, Summary of affairs: foreign department, 1818 to 1835 (1878), p. 150: "Goorgur (Gurjar) tribe, who constituted ruling and pre-dominant class in Sumpthur (Samthar)"
- Sahifa-e-Zarrin (1902), p. 104.
These reliable and old sources appear to describe or identify the Samthar ruling family as Gurjar tribe/agricultural Gurjar caste, while some records also use the designation "Khatana clan" in reference to members of the ruling house.
Suggested neutral wording: "Several historical and official publications describe the ruling family of Samthar State as Gurjar, including works by Alexander Cunningham, J. Talboys Wheeler, and colonial-era administrative records."
I request that the current wording be reviewed in light of these published sources and updated in accordance with Wikipedia's policies on verifiability, neutrality, and reliable sourcing.
Thank you. XaiverN9tewWike (talk) 08:13, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
