Maria Husarska AFD

1. I made a mistake and doubled the AFD nomination of M.Husarska, which created chaos that I am not able to fix. Would you be able to help?

2. I believe the current sources are too weak to make the subject notable. The majority of the discussion is back and forth between the author and the nominator, so the discussion needs a third-party assessment. What is your opinion on this biography? Help with redirects from ...

Could you please look at the links to Tetramethylphenylenediamine, which I have moved a couple of times. I fear that I have created some vortex of redirects. Thank you. Smokefoot (talk) 12:43, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

Promotion/Vandalism or Not?

Hello - I noticed you had made a good edit a while ago to YASA Limited and wanted to ask for your help in reviewing recent changes to that article and others related to it. There appear to be a bunch of promotional edits there, and on Evolito Ltd, Axial flux motor, Motor controller and Electric motor. I don't have the technical knowledge to evaluate these edits and started to roll them back thinking they were vandalism. Now I'm not sure. (I follow Electric motor for the history). If you could look into it I would appreciate it, and I totally own it if I made a mistake. Thank you! H0n0r (talk) 02:24, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

@H0n0r: Well my edit was over 2 years ago and just a spelling fix. I admit that I would not check for vandalism or promotion when doing that. Sometimes I do note that spelling mistakes were introduced by vandalism, and then I would revert. In general you can just read the article and see if there is puffery, or only press release like material, then you know it is promotion. This is an encyclopedia, so if it looks like the company web site, then perhaps promotion is taking place. For a more fine-grained approach, go to the history of changes, and compare two revisions and see what changed. Then step back ( or forward) through changes to see what changed. You can then easily spot vandalism. Use "undo" if it is clear, Otherwise you might have to ask on the talk page if you question some fact change. In any case a reference should support the facts, so you should be able to check if it is correct. One user was called "YASA Limited " and so is very likely from the company and should be scrutinised. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:37, 28 March 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of File:SSES logo.png

Hello @Graeme Bartlett Sir,

I have added twice a URL which is relevant to the respective information even thats giving more recent news about Gelly Indonesia but somehow thats get deleted. I checked everything is relevant and good even I checked the news as well but still thats get deleted so please can you help me to check the exact reason of deletion.

I have added on this page: Geely Galaxy E5

Tiflucarbine

Hi Graeme. What would you call this tetracyclic ring system in tiflucarbine? On Pubchem they have just named it as if it were all made of carbons then swapped out some of them for N and S, but that is an awkward way of naming it and I'm sure there must be a better one. Meodipt (talk) 21:07, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

@Meodipt: Using the fused ring nomenclature it could be a thienoindenopyridine. But the true name would bave more []s in it, and I don't know enugh to correcly write it. I think this would be original research if we used this name when no one else has done so. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:29, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
I'm not sure the original research prohibition applies here, systematic chemical names are based on the arrangement of the atoms, so it isn't research at all, more like solving an equation. But yes I never studied chemical naming at postgrad level as I had switched to pharmacology by then, and they never told us how to name things like this in undergrad chemistry! Meodipt (talk) 04:32, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
I asked the AI and it suggested the core structure would be called Thieno[3',2':8,9]pyrido[4,3-b]indole (with some appropriate substitutions and saturation of some bonds in the pyridine ring). Which sounds plausible, but not sure if it is correct. Meodipt (talk) 05:18, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
Also sounds plausible, could be tetrahydropyridine, but the tetrahydro could be a substitution. Do you have access to chemistry software that can make up such names from a structure? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:26, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
Not these days unfortunately, I just use the free version of ACD ChemSketch to draw my structures, and it doesn't support naming structures this complex. I just asked Copilot to tutor me about chemical nomenclature, and then said "so if you have gamma-carboline and it has a thiophene ring fused across the 8,9 positions with the S at 8, how would you name that given that the formal name for gamma-carboline is pyrido[4,3-b]indole" and thats what it came up with. But not sure if that is right as those positions may be numbered 8 and 9 when its named as a gamma-carboline, but I'm not sure the numbering is the same when its named as a pyrido[4,3-b]indole. Other ideas I had are that "tiflucarbine" sounds like an INN name, so if I can find the list of INN names assigned in 1986 then it will have the chemical name in there. Or the original patent describing the synthesis may have it if this was named as a specific example. I'll see what I can find. Meodipt (talk) 19:06, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
Ha yes cracked it. INN name list 1985. 9-ethyl-4-fluoro-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-1-methyl-6H-pyrido[4,3-b]thieno[3,2-e]indole. And an official citeable source too, so I'll add it to the article now. Meodipt (talk) 19:16, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
That is good. Another question is how is this pronounced: tie or tee? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:56, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
@Meodipt I've linked the article to Wikidata, which has most chemicals that have/need articles and many of their IDs. Chemspider is a reliable source of IUPAC names. Mike Turnbull (talk) 13:24, 14 April 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Benzyl amines

A tag has been placed on Category:Benzyl amines indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Censorship userbox

I'd appreciate some clarification on what you intend to say with your Wikipedia is censored userbox, as I feel like it's currently phrased in a provocative way. Specifically, labeling attempts to prevent Wikipedia from being used as a soapbox for discrimination as "censorship" feels like an attack on those who are seeking to uphold our community's standards for civility and professionalism. If this isn't what you mean to say, I think it would make sense to reword the userbox to prevent further misconceptions. Of course, you're in charge of your userspace, and I'm not going to bring this to a drama board; we can just decide to politely ignore each other if a civil conversation isn't going to be productive. Gracen (they/them) 16:58, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Actually, scratch that part about not bringing this to a noticeboard. I'd like to have a discussion first, but frankly after looking more into the MfD and your surrounding actions, I'm hard-pressed to assume this is exclusively a commentary on Wikipedia itself. Gracen (they/them) 17:09, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
My point is that some viewpoints on Wikipedia are censored, but those in the opposite point of view are not. There is some intolerance exhibited on Wikipedia, and the box is a civil way of saying I disagree with that intolerance. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:19, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. I'll concede that there's a double standard for those who support queerness and those who don't; I'll leave it at that because this is not the place to argue whether it's warranted or not.
I still believe that there's a better way to phrase this userbox that's equally civil but less provocative (maybe "Wikipedia is hostile towards religion"), but again, your userspace.
Thanks for not making this heated, Gracen (they/them) 21:48, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
I think that using the word "hostile" would sound more provocative and attract more attention. I am mild person, so I prefer to leave it more subtle. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:54, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
You can also see my dispute about how other users were treated with categories "Wikipedians who are not a Wikipedian & Wikipedians with red-linked categories on their user page" where some were taking userpages and tidyness much too seriously. At least this has come to a stable equilibrium. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:59, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
People were actually upset about that? Some people really need to remember this project is an encyclopedia first and a community second. Gracen (they/them) 22:15, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Graeme Bartlett:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Request

Do you give me permission to remove the "Multiple" thread, so that Uther doesn't find out about it? If he finds out about this, he will drafty everything, just like he did with Anshuman Magazine. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 02:02, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

I don't mind but you can also revert any draftification yourself. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:16, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Draftifications can only be reverted after the subject becomes ready to return to the mainspace, which usually doesn't happen (hence, why I wanted to avoid it). But it is too late to hide this now. I'm preparing myself to get my ears pulled by @UtherSRG: (and rightfully so). Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 04:04, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Of course they can be reverted. see WP:BRD. But AFD may be a next step. However AFD should only be started if the page cannot be a suitable topic for mainspace. There are far too many draftifications and rejections of drafts going on. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:03, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Multiple undelete

Hi, I know that unPROD is a routine and non controversial process, but I was the request to undelete 20 article son disparate subjects really in process? No objection was given, and the person making the request seemed to think that they were simply restoring pages based on them having been PRODed by one user (and they were wrong even on that score). Isn't that an abuse of process? Thanks. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:10, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

No reason was given, but no reason has to be to reverse prods. But if none are kept, then I will consider it is wasting my time. It is no more an abuse to reverse prods than it is to delete them, or apply prod templates. Though I will add that our goal is to build an encyclopedia rather than erase it. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:18, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
It is wasting everyone's time (and a lot of it) to restore 20 articles simply because of who PRODed them (and to accidentally restore an article that was not even PRODed by the same person and is not a sport BLP, for no reason at all. As for the oft repeated line about not deleting an encyclopaedia, we call ourselves editors. An editor who does not know how to delete material that should not be there is no editor at all. We are building an encyclopaedia and not plagiarising sports result databases. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:32, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
@Sirfurboy: Besides Christopher Snowdon, the likes of Carlos Ramos Blanco and Timur Zhividze (now drafted) was also not PRODed by JT. Kind regards. Luis7M (talk) 12:49, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
At the very least review the prod'd article before restoration and see if the draftification is a better response to the request. I find it usually is. You've seen the text I use when draftifying prod undel requests. You may want to adopt such text yourself. And when the user is doing this as an obvious grudge, declining is still valid. The instructions say that prod'd articles "may" be restored upon request, it does not say they "must" be restored. Don't be a machine, use some judgement. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:22, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

your help would be very grateful thanking you Blackmigtydeath Blackmightydeath (talk) 08:47, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

First of all @Blackmightydeath: you will need to find sources. Perhaps there is a journal review article on the topic. And there may be a government web site that talks about it. Indian Council of Medical Research might give some clues. As to coverage you will need a lede, describe the major institutions, the famous researchers ( partiularly any nobel prize winners), history, locations, source of funding, legislation, industry, awards and prizes, conferences, stuff unique to India eg Ayurveda, Yunani medicine, plants. Undeletion of Peter New

I am confused by why this article was restored to mainspace and the notability tag removed after it was soft deleted. The article is the exact same as it was when it was deleted with zero reliable sources. 2600:1011:B037:C57F:2834:79AD:326B:D5B6 (talk) 22:10, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Soft deletes can be challenged by anyone, and then the deletion reversed, So that happened, and then some one removed the notability tag. If you think that tag applies then you may add it back in or start a discussion on the talk page. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:54, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

File:One Bayfront Plaza rendering.jpg

Hi Graeme. Could you take a look at File:One Bayfront Plaza rendering.jpg? It was just updated/overwritten, but otherwise nothing else was changed in the file's non-free use rationale (in particular the source for the image was not updated). Not sure what to do here, since technically the new version is without a source per WP:F4. It might come from here but there's still the overwriting of the file. Does this need to be split? Can the new source just be added and let the older versions be deleted per WP:F5? -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:16, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

Dessy

File:Superlega Italian Volleyball League.png

Hi Graeme. Would you mind taking a look at File:Superlega Italian Volleyball League.png? It was recently updated, but the two versions are so different that it's perhaps more of an overwrite than update. The new version actually seems too simple to be non-free per c:COM:TOO US and even possibly per c:COM:TOO Italy (assuming that's the country of first publication); so, the new version most likely should be on Commons as {{PD-logo}} instead. The same can't be said about the older version, though, and it will probably need to be deleted per F5. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:37, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: OK I have hidden the previous non-free version. Since the free replaces the non-free, I think there is no need for a split. You can change it to be PD-simple-USonly if you want. I don't know about Italy though. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:50, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of History of Frisia

Notice

The article History of Frisia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article seems largely inactive, combined with the fact that its title refers to the region of Frisia as a whole, yet is largely more related with the history of specifically Friesland, often conflating the modern Frisian to be only Friesland - which already has a better subheading under the respective Friesland page. It has also been ranked C on the content assessment scale.

More page histories

Hi, I've created some redirects to the Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow article. Is it okay if the page histories of the following articles are undeleted: Cinnabar Island, Saffron City, Fuchsia City, Celadon City, Seafoam Islands, Cerulean Cave, Vermillion City, and Indigo Plateau?

Sorry if it's a bit much. I just want to ensure the preservation of the page histories. I'm also an admin over on the English Vikidia, where I've recently been adding some stuff suitable for inclusion for the reading demographic, like Hammer Bro (which has the page histories intact on WP, but I just wanted to inform you about what I'm doing).

There's some more, but I want to start with the Kanto-region articles I listed above. 2005-Fan (talk) 02:46, 26 September 2025 (UTC)

Also, just found out the Gameplay of Pokémon article was deleted, which is too bad because it would've been perfect for the Pokémon wikibook. Is it possible to undelete or are there too many revisions? In the latter case, what would the five principal authors be, per cc-by-sa requirements? 2005-Fan (talk) 03:04, 26 September 2025 (UTC)
I similarly asked TheSandDoctor though he wants to get Liz's opinion. She didn't respond to a ping, so I'm unsure what to do here.
You do know that Pokemon has a lack of cc-by-sa content, right? Because the main dedicated wiki (Bulbapedia) utilizes the cc-by-nc-sa, so that makes it extra important to have content accessible. 2005-Fan (talk) 13:54, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
@2005-Fan: I was on a wikibreak when you posted this section! I have undeleted the histories for Cinnabar Island, Saffron City, Fuchsia City, Celadon City, Seafoam Islands, Cerulean Cave, Vermillion City, Indigo Plateau and Gameplay of Pokémon. For Gameplay of Pokémon, when you are finished let me know and I will delete it again as per AFD close. The others had no AFD. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:43, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
It's okay, there was no urgency, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. Thanks so much for the help. :) Also, I requested it here.
Are you saying that it's okay for Pokédex to be undeleted (the page history) because it wasn't part of a direct AfD? 2005-Fan (talk) 03:03, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Yes because it was deleted as a redirect to an article that was deleted. Do you want that history? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:00, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Yes 2005-Fan (talk) 10:45, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
@2005-Fan:  Done Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:51, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Mind doing Poké Ball as well? 2005-Fan (talk) 10:52, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Also, I think some revisions are missing from gameplay for pokemon, which is briefly undeleted, and prob won't fulfill author requirements, as it's not possible for an IP to have created a comprehensive article out of nowhere. 2005-Fan (talk) 10:48, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
And similar for Pokedex (which wasn't part of an AfD). 2005-Fan (talk) 10:54, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
OK, I have restored more revisions of both of them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:06, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Would it be okay to also do Poké Ball (as listed above), Pokémon types, Pokémon evolution, and Pokémon battle? Those are all important game mechanics to Pokemon titles, and will all go to Wikibooks as well. 2005-Fan (talk) 11:18, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Regret that it's taking a while for Wikibooks to import the articles I requested. I mentioned that I wanted the page histories for Poké Ball, Pokémon types, Pokémon evolution, and Pokémon battle restored as well because they are mentioned in some the articles here and weren't part of an AfD. 2005-Fan (talk) 00:37, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Done for Poké Ball, and User:Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles/Pokémon types. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:49, 3 October 2025 (UTC)
Also done for Pokémon evolution. The battle page was only ever a redirect. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:20, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! What about Pokémon Gym? 2005-Fan (talk) 04:40, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
incidentally, can undeletion only be done for 500 revisions at a time, or was that just a funny technical shenanigan? consarn (talck) (contirbuton s) 11:45, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
The undelete interface has changed to only show 500 at a time rather than all. So I missed the "load more revisions" link at the bottom. Even then the database times out on 500 revisions, so two attempts are required. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:41, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
ah, thanks, that explains it. i guess this means it's both, since there seem to have been 4593 diffs consarn (talck) (contirbuton s) 22:11, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Matthew Betley

Notice

The article Matthew Betley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable author. Sourcing is limited to Goodreads and Amazon (both unreliable), his own publisher, a high school magazine, and the personal website of some other non-notable individual.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This is an automated notification. Please refer to the page's history for further information. DatBot (talk) 00:30, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Import updates

Hey, so someone's been helping with the imports at Wikibooks, so we could be ready for the deletion of Gameplay of Pokemon soon.

Next up, would you be okay with moving these articles to the Draft namespace for import into wikibooks? They were part of a redirects for discussion so they prob cannot be utilized in mainspace:

Falkner (Pokémon), Lorelei (Pokémon), Koga (Pokémon), Blaine (Pokémon), Sabrina (Pokémon), Agatha (Pokémon), Janine (Pokémon), Bruno (Pokémon), Will (Pokémon), Lt. Surge (Pokémon) (or Lt. Surge, if the former was a redirect), and Erika (Pokémon)

Lastly, I made a mistake: it's the Vermilion City article that I also want the page history for (with one "l") and I forgot to ask for the history of Mt. Moon to be undeleted (for here). There's also Pokémon Gym, like I listed above.

Thank you again! 2005-Fan (talk) 15:17, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

  • Draftifying to : Draft:Falkner (Pokémon), Draft:Lorelei (Pokémon), Draft:Koga (Pokémon), Draft:Blaine (Pokémon), Draft:Sabrina (Pokémon), Draft:Agatha (Pokémon), Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:21, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
    Thank you
Don't forget Vermilion City (one "l"), Mt. Moon, and Pokémon Gym. 2005-Fan (talk) 16:03, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
  • More draftifying to Draft:Janine (Pokémon), Draft:Bruno (Pokémon), Draft:Will (Pokémon), Draft:Lt. Surge, Draft:Erika (Pokémon) Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:19, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
  • Now done Vermilion City Mt. Moon, and Pokémon Gym. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:59, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
Awesome, thank you again. For transparency, they're being included in wikibooks:Pokémon and wikibooks:A Traveler's Guide to the World of Pokémon.
I'll list the Johto locations that need to be draftified for inclusion into "A Traveler's Guide to the World of Pokémon":
    • New Bark Town
    • Violet City
    • Azalea Town
    • Ecruteak City
    • Olivine City
    • Whirl Islands
    • Mahogany Town
    • Blackthorn City
    • Mt. Silver
    • Silver Town (there were revisions of Pokemon location before deletion)
Would you be okay to draftify this template as well? Template:Pokémon character . It's so that this can be attributed properly. 2005-Fan (talk) 00:36, 8 October 2025 (UTC)
Also, I apologize if there's some backlog of requests, it's because they're struggling to import the Gameplay of Pokemon article over at Wikibooks. 2005-Fan (talk) 01:29, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
see Draft:New Bark Town, Draft:Violet City, Draft:Azalea Town, Draft:Ecruteak City, Draft:Olivine City, Draft:Whirl Islands, Draft:Mahogany Town, Draft:Blackthorn City, Draft:Template:Pokémon character. Note that Mt. Silver has not content, only ever a redirect to Mount Silver or Silver Town or List of Johto locations#Mount Silver. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:02, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
@2005-Fan: See also Draft:Mount Silver which you probably like. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:37, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you. Did Tohjo Falls and Pokémon ability have any content? Also, I requested importer privileges on Wikibooks, so that should help these processes go quicker, like it did a few years ago. 2005-Fan (talk) 13:25, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Done See Draft:Tohjo Falls and history of Pokémon ability. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:56, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Silver Town history now restored. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:01, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you
Does Pokémon move have any history that can be undeleted too? It now redirects. 2005-Fan (talk) 00:04, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
No, only a redirect to Pokémon technique Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:06, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
and i assume that had no content either? 2005-Fan (talk) 02:42, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
Correct, it only appears to be redirects going to the gameplay article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:02, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

If one of you could remove the categories and nonexistent templates from these articles as you recreate and move them to Draft space, that would be helpful. They are appearing on various reports. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:57, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

I've just become an importer over on Wikibooks, so we should be able to take care of that soon. 2005-Fan (talk) 17:19, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

DK articles

Sorry to overwhelm, but I'm making this section separate from the Pokemon stuff above. In addition to the above requests, I'm also requesting page histories of the following to be undeleted: Kremlings, Klubba, Kritter, and Kudgel. All of them are existing redirects. 2005-Fan (talk) 03:25, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

OK Kremlings, Klubba, Kritter, and Kudgel history is back omitting redirect and vandalism. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 08:26, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you
I think Kremling (without the 's') also has page history? 2005-Fan (talk) 13:22, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
Kremling restored. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:50, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Hoenn

Okay, so all of the drafts above can be deleted because I've finally got the importer role back at Wikibooks, where I've been importing all of them over to. I'm requesting draft namespace for the following next; these are the Hoenn locations:

  • Littleroot Town
  • Oldale Town
  • Petalburg City
  • Rustboro City
  • Slateport City
  • Mauville City
  • Verdanturf Town
  • Lavaridge Town
  • Lilycove City
  • Mossdeep City
  • Sootopolis City
  • Pacifidlog Town

2005-Fan (talk) 20:05, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

@2005-Fan: I am starting on these, and I have now draftified: Draft:Littleroot Town, Draft:Oldale Town, Draft:Petalburg City, Draft:Rustboro City, Draft:Slateport City, Draft:Mauville City, Draft:Verdanturf Town, Draft:Lavaridge Town, Draft:Lilycove City, Draft:Mossdeep City, Draft:Sootopolis City. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:32, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you! There's a few miscellaneous articles here that I'm also requesting drafts of, also benefiting the Pokemon wikibooks project:
  • Lake of Rage
  • Pokémon League
  • Types of Pokémon moves
  • Pokémon coordinator
  • Pokérus
  • List of Elite Four members
  • List of Kanto locations (while technically available at Wikibooks, the authors for this page are different than the Kanto article, pre-merge)
  • List of Johto locations (while technically available at Wikibooks, the authors for this page are different than the Johto article, pre-merge)
  • List of Hoenn locations (while technically available at Wikibooks, the authors for this page are different than the Hoenn article, pre-merge)
  • List of Sinnoh locations
  • List of Frontier Brains
  • List of Kanto Gym Leaders
  • List of Johto Gym Leaders
  • List of Hoenn Gym Leaders
  • List of Orange Islands Gym Leaders
Also, I think Pokémon moves (not singular, unlike Pokémon move), Pokémon Contest, Lavender Tower, and Pokémon breeding might have history. If so, mind undeleting the page history for these three articles? 2005-Fan (talk) 18:36, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
So far restored: Draft:List of Elite Four members, Draft:List of Kanto locations, Draft:List of Hoenn locations, Draft:Lake of Rage, Draft:Pokémon League, Draft:Types of Pokémon moves, Draft:Pokémon coordinator, Draft:Pokérus. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:27, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. Looking forward to the rest! The List of Elite Four members article, for some reason, is difficult to port over because it has like over 1,000 revisions. I've also similarly struggled to port over User:Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles/Pokémon types. 2005-Fan (talk) 13:43, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Can you import about 300 revisions at a time? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:31, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
I can only import an article directly. Unfortunately, I cannot work with the XMLs themselves on Wikibooks. I have the importer role but not admin, which could have something to do with it, or just a MediaWiki configuration of sorts. I'm unsure. 2005-Fan (talk) 23:52, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
In that case you may just have to retry several times (perhaps 10 times) to get the data cached so that it can be fast enough to complete. Working from XML is far more "dangerous", so very few can do. Stewards should be able to do huge imports too. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:36, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Now also restored Draft:List of Hoenn Gym Leaders, Draft:List of Orange Islands Gym Leaders, Draft:List of Kanto Gym Leaders, Draft:List of Johto Gym Leaders, Draft:List of Johto locations, Draft:List of Sinnoh locations, Draft:List of Frontier Brains. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:06, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
History reinstated for 4 articles Pokémon moves, Pokémon Contest, Lavender Tower, and Pokémon breeding Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:20, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you, are you able to restore the page history for List of Mario series species?
And draftify the following:
  • Scorched Slab
  • Shoal Cave
  • Pokémart
  • Desert Ruins
  • Sky Pillar
  • Mt. Chimney
  • Jagged Pass
  • Ilex Forest
  • Union Cave
  • Slowpoke Well
  • Cave of Origin
  • Mirage Tower
  • Abandoned Ship (Pokémon)
  • New Mauville
  • Granite Cave
  • Tin Tower
  • Ruins of Alph
  • Phoebe (Pokémon)
  • Template:Pokémon locations (missing page history here)
  • Template:Pokémon Gym Leaders
Sorry if this is too much to ask. 2005-Fan (talk) 22:26, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
List of Mario series species history is back, but since it was AFD'd should probably delete it again once you finished with it. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 23:11, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Okay, got it. It's now imported to here in full. Were all of the revisions undeleted? Did it start as an article with 71,000+ bytes? 2005-Fan (talk) 23:29, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Yes they were. It was created that big. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:42, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Jagged Pass was only ever a redirect. see Draft:Scorched Slab, Draft:Shoal Cave, Draft:Pokémart, Draft:Desert Ruins, Draft:Sky Pillar, Draft:Mount Chimney Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:10, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
Done Draft:Cave of Origin, Draft:Mirage Tower, Draft:Abandoned Ship (Pokémon), Draft:Ilex Forest, Draft:Union Cave, Draft:Slowpoke Well, Draft:Granite Cave, Draft:New Mauville, Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:01, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. Anything for the last few on the above list? 2005-Fan (talk) 00:30, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Now done Draft:Tin Tower, Draft:Ruins of Alph, Draft:Phoebe (Pokémon), Draft:Template:Pokémon locations (was much bigger earlier on), Draft:Template:Pokémon Gym Leaders. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:08, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi Graeme Bartlett. I saw that you undeleted Agathic acid because the "page was reviewed"; however, it cited (and still cites):

  • Lee, S. P. (1977). "Distribution of diterpenoid resin acids in the Araucariaceae". Phytochemistry. 16: 1425–1428.
  • acid CID Agathic acid from PubChem

As WP:G15 says, these nonexistent/nonsensical citations would have been removed by any reasonable human review. If you've decided to clean up this chatbot's hallucinations, it shouldn't be considered "clean" until you've verified that its citations at least exist. jlwoodwa (talk) 22:20, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

  • Thanks, I have remove that ref. I tagged this for deletion earlier as it was the 100% fake. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:13, 16 October 2025 (UTC)

Thank you

Hi Graeme, I just wanted to sincerely thank you for restoring my draft Draft:William C. Kouns. I’m actively working on improvements with independent sources, and your help in bringing it back is much appreciated.

96.38.96.14 (talk) 21:05, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

You should probably log on! There should be less bolding and puffery in the draft. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:13, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

More

Thanks so much again for the help at restoring several articles for transwiki into Wikibooks. Makes a huge difference. You're welcome to delete all the drafts, except Draft:List of Kanto Gym Leaders and Draft:List of Elite Four members, as they're too large. I recommend splitting the histories into subpages, then I can ask a wikibooks admin to merge them together. Gameplay of Pokémon is also too large. Redirect aside, I think the histories for that need to be split up as well.

Did the Orre article have any content? 2005-Fan (talk) 06:31, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Yes, see the history. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:59, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Requesting the histories of more Pokemon locations:
  • S.S Anne
  • Battle Tower
  • Viridian Forest
  • Ice Path
  • Silph Co.
  • Pokémon Mansion
  • Sprout Tower
  • Pokémon National Park
  • Dark Cave
  • Petalburg Woods
  • Rusturf Tunnel
  • Island Cave
  • Mt. Pyre
  • Sealed Chamber
  • Altering Cave
  • Southern Island
2005-Fan (talk) 13:15, 19 October 2025 (UTC)

Starting with: (most crufty version of) Draft:S.S Anne, Draft:Battle Tower, Draft:Viridian Forest, Draft:Ice Path, Draft:Pokémon Mansion, Draft:Silph Co., Draft:Sprout Tower Draft:Pokémon National Park, Draft:Petalburg Woods, history of Dark Cave, Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:17, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

Now also Draft:Rusturf Tunnel, Draft:Island Cave, Draft:Mt. Pyre, Draft:Sealed Chamber, Draft:Altering Cave. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:07, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
The last Southern Island had this text deleted as G1: "Go to a nintendo event to get the eon ticket or mix recorods with ruby or sapphire that has a eon ticket.

Then you will get the ticket. After you get it go to lilycove city the captin will come and he will take you to southern island. After you get there press a button at the rock. A Latias or a Latios depending what pokempn you catch." by Raquaza. A no context delete would have been better. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:20, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

Thank you its fine to delete the aforementioned drafts now (except List of Kanto Gym Leaders and List of Elite Four members, as those need histories split, and so does Gameplay of Pokémon) 2005-Fan (talk) 13:39, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

I was, and somehow did not detect that the above was a new post! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:28, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
No problem, hope it was okay if I asked you about the above, since I still requesting the aforementioned to be draftified, page history splits, and that you can delete every draft except Draft:List of Kanto Gym Leaders and Draft:List of Elite Four members, which still need histories split, as well as Gameplay of Pokémon due to "delete article" outcome whilst still being too large to import over into Wikibooks directly. 2005-Fan (talk) 14:13, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
Pokémon Fan Club President was never an article. Done: Draft:Morty (Pokémon), Draft:Chuck (Pokémon), Draft:Bugsy (Pokémon). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 19:51, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

Guide to temporary accounts

Hello, Graeme Bartlett. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

Temporary account IP viewer user right

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences Appearance Advanced options Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

Good work

Been following you for a while, you and Beland. Thanks for work on the Typo/moss project. Your hard work has enriched Wiktionary. You really sift through the shit and find genuinely used terms, many of which haven't been piccked up by other lexicographers who maybe over-rely on computers. Goes to show that human eyes and elbow grease is what these projects are all about. Vealhurl (talk) 16:03, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

File:The Hundred (cricket) svg logo.svg

Hi Graeme. Could you take a look at File:The Hundred (cricket) svg logo.svg? It looks to have been originally uploaded as non-free but then coverted to {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}. The UK's TOO actually moved more towards the US's about a year of so ago; so, this logo might actually now even be OK for Commons per c:COM:TOO UK. The file, however, was overwritten back in June; the overwrite was self-reverted, but a possibly non-free version remains. Anyway, if this file is OK for Commons, then File:The Hundred (cricket) logo.svg should be OK for Commons too. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:01, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

I have vanished the overwrite and revert, so it will all be the same copyright applicability for all revisions. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:43, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
Thank you Graeme. File:The Hundred (cricket) logo.svg is, so to speak, also an overwrite since the previous versions of the file appear idententical to File:The Hundred (cricket) svg logo.svg. Is there a way to split this file into seperate files or does the uploader of the most recent version need to upload it again, only as a seperate file? -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:04, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
It should be uploaded with a a new name if it is a new logo, as it would not apply to the earlier seasons. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 19:34, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
Thanks Graeme. I've posted something about this on the uploader's user talk page and asked them to reupload the most recent version as a separate file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:02, 3 November 2025 (UTC)

I am drastically revamping double salt. Hopefully for the better. This general area is one where you have contributed previously, so you are welcome to comment, complain, etc. Also I am not the worlds best at the technical aspects of formatting. --Smokefoot (talk) 23:11, 5 November 2025 (UTC)

@Smokefoot: That looks to be a considerable improvement. It would be good to have some discussion about when or not they exist. And a phase diagram eg or solubility graphs would be good. Though I would not say the substances in the diagrams I link to are important enough. Are there any free to use on commons? And are bisulfate and sulfate distinct enough to classify as two anions? (I am unsure) Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:05, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

Coordination complex SMILES

I noticed that you have modified the formal charges of ligand binding sites in SMILES on several pages to reflect oxidation state rather than formal charge, such as for Chromium(II) acetate and Iron(III) acetate. While I am sure that this was well-intentioned, SMILES cannot recognize coordination bonds as dative unless the formal charges are specified to reflect that, so not specifying the formal charges to be consistent with dative bonds messes up the rendering. (As an example, contrast the 90° and 180° bond angles on the oxygen atoms when they are given a formal charge of 0 to the oxygen atoms having the correct bond angles when they are given a formal charge of +1.) I therefore request that you not remove these formal charges in the future. (I am fine with your changing the capitalization, though.) Care to differ or discuss with me? Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Graeme Bartlett:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for your contributions to Polonium dichloride dibromide. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because Weak, inaccessible, or non-existent sourcing for key details, and generally just apparent remnants of AI slop. doi:10.1039/jr9550003959 might have info, but is it notable even with that?. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

File:Godzilla English Logo.png

Hi Graeme. Could you take a look at File:Godzilla English Logo.png? Someone overwrote the file earlier today with a different version of logo, but both it and the version it replaced really seem too simple to need to be treated as non-free. I think the file is a candidate for a split and then both could be tagged for a move to Commons. I can no longer see the originally uploaded version that was deleted per F5, but it too most likely was too simple to need to be treated as non-free and was just reduced by a bot because it was licensed as such. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:26, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Graeme Bartlett, thanks for your edits in Glucoberteroin! These many little corrections really improve the quality of the article.

One thing I noted: There are two Wikidata objects that might be overlapping? Bottomless pit (gaming)

What was on this article? 2005-Fan (talk) 17:11, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

This: A bottomless pit, as its name implies, is a pit that has no identifiable bottom. They are a common hazard in many video games.

Depending on the game, when a player character falls into a bottomless pit, the player may lose either a life or health and/or be forced to restart from the last checkpoint, often regardless of invincibility or any other power-ups the player may have obtained. In some games, this can be avoided through a special item. e.g., in Mega Man 7, 'Beat' (a robotic bird), can prevent Mega Man from losing a life. As such, the bottomless pit generally serves as a navigational hazard which the player must be conscious of at all times. They may also be used as puzzle elements, by forcing the player to cross them, fill them in, or otherwise circumvent them by some pre-determined means, and thus restricting access to what is on the other side of them until that challenge has been completed. In fact, sometimes in 2D side-scrollers, a floor below the on-screen area could be hidden by a seemingly-bottomless pit; such features usually hold secret items. Bottomless pits rarely have a 'safety net', e.g. in Sonic Adventure 2, the level Pumpkin Hill is floored almost entirely by a bottomless pit, while safe platforms to stand on are few and far between (and thus it is very easy to lose a life) and if a player falls into the bottomless pit, it will let you hover for just a while, hopefully enough time for you to return to solid land.

In first-person shooters, pits are generally not bottomless and fall damage may instead result in damage or death. Other alternatives to the bottomless pit include water, lava, spikes, quicksand, and crushing, all of which may vary in damage. Players are not usually able to jump out except by using cheat codes.

In the Zork games, the early versions had bottomless pits in rather unlikely areas, such as attics, and the aforementioned pits would only appear in pitch-black areas, vanishing as soon as a torch was lit. These were later replaced with grues. Depending on the type of game, a black hole can be used as an alternative to a bottomless pit.

Bottomless pits are considered by many[who?] to be the easiest way out of constructing genuinely clever level mechanisms.[citation needed]

"Don't want to make a new texture? Can't think of a reason for the player to die if he ventures any further in this direction? Slap in a bottomless pit. They won't know what hit 'em!"[quote needs citation]

Crosswiki administration

Hi Graeme. I write to you because you are the only admin I found who edited the Fraxinetum page. Recently I started watching that page after the same subject on Latin Wikipedia was targeted by spam and vandalism from multiple accounts (the very Latin page is a recent creation, probably born for WP:OR reasons). There I blocked a couple of users, among them Mr.FarisAlIslam, because they blanked (#1, #2) the Latin version of the warnings {{Disputed}} and {{Wikify}} that are currently displayed on top of the page. Long story short: the Fraxinetum English page might need to be inspected and this video removed. Given the recent spam, semiprotection will also benefit the page. I leave the ball in your court. File:Central Mindanao University logo.png

Hi Graeme. Could you take a look at File:Central Mindanao University logo.png? The version uploaded back in 2016 seems complex enough to be treated as non-free, but the updated version uploaded yesterday doesn't. I'm not sure there's a need to split the file since the older version seems unlikely to be used per WP:NFC#cite_note-4, but that's just my opinion. If the new version is really OK as {{PD-ineligible-USonly}}, then only the oldest version needs to be deleted per F5. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:04, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

I agree with your opinion, so only the oldest is gone. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:12, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look at this Graeme. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:18, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

Censorship userbox

It's not my page, but I wanted to say that frankly, your censorship userbox comes off as fairly hostile. You said above that you're trying to be mild, but queer people are used to people trying to be "mild" about homophobia. By which I mean I'm not calling your userbox homophobic necessarily, just that trying to be mild doesn't make you come off as polite, it just kinda looks like someone trying to veil discrimination in euphemisms.

E.g., if someone's top userbox was similar to yours but linked to a taken-down Nazi userbox (as an extreme example). It could be someone pointing out that Wikipedia technically isn't uncensored, but it looks exactly the same as if someone was complaining about not being about to have a Nazi userbox (or whatever the censorship complaint userbox links to).

I wouldn't have posted this if you weren't an admin, but I think as an admin and therefore a representative of Wikipedia you should make it clear that you won't be discriminatory and not leave room for doubt. Otherwise, people will probably hesitate to ask you for assistance out of not wanting to take the risk, given the pretty clear sign that is your first userbox. Adding some more explanation (maybe in the form of linking to an essay) instead of a just linking "censorship" to the homophobic userbox ban would help. As a different suggestion, adding a pride flag somewhere on your user page would pretty solidly clear things up. Mrfoogles (talk) 06:34, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

@Gracen just because they mentioned this earlier. Mrfoogles (talk) 06:37, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
@Mrfoogles: I will say that the deleted userbox that I used to have there was not discriminatory, hostile, homophobic or impolite. It was about my opinion, not about other people's opinion. Some people may not like that opinion, but they will not know it unless they investigate. I was disappointed that it was deleted, and that deletion indicated hostility to the opinion of people like me. However I leave it on my page as a mild statement about censorship on this topic. Showing a pride flag is along the same political lines as the userbox that was deleted. But I would not support its removal or deletion. Since a "pride" flag does not apply to me, I would not show it. Nor would I show and anti-pride flag on my user page. However I will add it on occasion as the project on talk pages. I am happy to work with anyone on Wikipedia, including those that disagree with me on various issues. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:23, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

Remove CSD red tag pkease

Can you please remove the red CSD G5 on David J. Brady. While the page was created by a sock, it had no fluff and he flies through NPROF. I just approved it at AfC after @Stepwise Continuous Dysfunction added sources to his fellow elections (as I requested at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Physics). Ldm1954 (talk) 23:10, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Please ignore, it looks like the tag vanishes with a NPP review -- I could not review and AfC of course. Ldm1954 (talk) 23:23, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
I cannot see any tag in the history. Perhaps you were looking at another page. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:48, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
It vanished when the page was NPP reviewed. Ldm1954 (talk) 08:01, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Need help engaging with a user making disruptive edits

A user on temporary accounts (this, this, and this, plus two others) has been consistently making disruptive edits in the African diaspora page for the past week or so, particularly in the last two days. They do not use the talk page even after I sent a message to their temporary account's talk page to get them to engage and also ignore the consensus reached by mediation as seen here. All of these accounts have the same IP region (11-20) so I presume it's the same person.

They consistently edit the same thing out to seemingly push an agenda refusing to count mixed descendants of Brazil towards to the african diaspora count. There are multiple sources, including one interviewing the IBGE (brazilian census organisation) which includes pardo brazilians as part of Brazil's afrodescendant population, in which this user ignores

The contention this person talks about has already been talked in depth in the article's talk page in addition to the mediation page in which was approved by the mediator. The contention about the sources being inaccurate generally are not accompanied by any contradictory sources, as seen in the mediation page

I am not sure what to do about this user, but I think something needs to be done Kyogul (talk) 04:02, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

I have protected African diaspora for 3 months. Because the anon can jump around it may be difficult to communicate on a page they will see. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 04:12, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
thank you! hopefully this assuages the issue temporarily Kyogul (talk) 07:48, 6 March 2026 (UTC)

File:Datavant Logo.png

Hi Graeme Bartlett. Could you take a look at File:Datavant Logo.png? The previous version was uploaded as non-free content, but it's been updated/overwritten with a new version that's PD-logo? The older version has been tagged for speedy deletion per F5, but it too might be too simple to need to be treated as non-free. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:23, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

Reinstated and detagged. @Marchjuly: Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:42, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

African diaspora - help needed?

Hi Graeme Bartlett, I had edited the "African Diaspora" page before the editing war broke out. I had included several sources which are listed in the the "Black British people" page into that page (essentially a copy/paste from the Infobox), it seems to have deleted accidentally due to the editing war, and because the page is now locked I am unable to change it.

There were several sources, as the "UK" census doesn't cover the whole of the UK, it's split into 'England & Wales', 'Scotland' and 'Northern Ireland'. As a result the page currently only has a source for "England and Wales" not the whole of the UK. Also included is a note explaining to the viewer the discrepancy in time, as Scotland's Census took place 1 year after the others.

Thanks Mystikalman (talk) 02:07, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

@Mystikalman: user the talk:African diaspora to propose and discuss your change ideas. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:52, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi Graeme Bartlett, I feel there is a misunderstanding as to what I am asking, so just to reiterate;
I did not start or get involved in the Edit War on the "African Diaspora" page
I am not proposing a change to the page
I am not intending to change any number stats on the page
The current edit war is surrounding Brazil, not the UK, my previous edit as I discussed, was simply removed in the cross-fire.
It was actually the person you protected the page FROM that removed my sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/~2026-14001-27
The current Source listed as the "UK" source actually only covers "England & Wales", I included Scotland and Northern Ireland, as is displayed in the page "Black British people" linked in the "African Diaspora" page (as seen in my previous post, and linked below). What I am asking is for those sources (Government Census stats for Scotland and Northern Ireland, including a note explaining time discrepancy) to be reinstated, otherwise the listed stat will not be the same as that in the source, for reasons I previously stated. I am not asking for a change in the number, simply for those additional sources to be added, as they are what is linked to in the African Diaspora page
Thanks, Mystikalman (talk) 18:35, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Since you are autoconfirmed, you can make your change to the article yourself. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:18, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Okay, thank you, I didn't know that
regards, Mystikalman (talk) 22:10, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

File:ScottsburgINlogo.png

Hi Graeme. Could you take a look at File:ScottsburgINlogo.png? It's an updated non-free file, but I'm not sure whether either version needs to be treated as non-free. Someone tagged with with {{Maybe free media}} shortly aa few days after it was originally uploaded last year, but it apparently never got reveiwed. I only noticed it because someone updated it earlier today, which caused it to show up in Special:NewFiles. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:41, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

I think original one would have been free, but not the new upload. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:48, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for taking a look. Is it OK to let the original be deleted per F5 even though it's probably not non-free? -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:43, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
I would not be worried about it. But if someone actually wants to keep it and use it then a history split is possible. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 03:54, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
Understood. Thanks again. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:05, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
